Cookie and Analytics Details
Last Updated: September 1, 2026
This page supplements the Wings & Whistles Privacy Policy and explains the website storage and analytics controls in more detail.
Essential storage
The website may use storage that is necessary to operate a feature or remember a choice you requested. This includes a first-party ww_analytics_consent cookie, stored for up to 180 days, that records whether this browser allowed or declined optional analytics.
Our hosting provider, currently Vercel, may provide an approximate two-letter country code derived from the website request. The browser requests that code from our own /api/geo endpoint and stores it for the current browser session under ww_visitor_country. We use it to decide whether to show the regional analytics prompt and whether the app is currently offered in the visitor's likely market. The approximation may be wrong, including when a visitor travels or uses a VPN.
Optional analytics
We use Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and PostHog to measure page views and specific interactions that we deliberately instrument. These services may use cookies or local storage and may process browser and device type, pages visited, referring page, interaction events, approximate network-derived location, and time spent on pages.
PostHog automatic element capture and session recording are disabled on this website. Google advertising storage, personalization, and advertising user-data consent remain denied. The website consent control grants only the analytics purpose.
Regional consent
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Andorra, Monaco, the Faroe Islands, and listed covered territories, Google Tag Manager and PostHog remain off until the visitor selects Allow analytics. Declining does not disable any essential site feature. In regions where prior consent is not required, analytics may begin after the country check without showing a prompt.
Activity before a new affirmative choice is not replayed after the choice. The camper join and embeddable-player routes remain analytics-free regardless of country or stored preference. Entering one of those routes does not erase an existing analytics identity or change a stored consent choice.
Changing your choice
Use Cookie settings in the website footer to allow or turn off optional analytics. When analytics is turned off after it has loaded, the website denies future analytics storage, clears known first-party Google Analytics and PostHog storage that it can remove, and reloads so already-loaded analytics scripts do not remain active. Browser controls can also block or delete storage.
Market waitlist
When someone submits the market-availability waitlist, the email address, approximate country code, and a waitlist source label are sent to Mailchimp so we can send the requested availability notice and organize entries by market. Required analytics consent is not a condition of joining the waitlist, and no waitlist analytics event is sent before that consent.
Questions about these controls can be sent to support@wingsandwhistles.app.
